My colleagues and I are celebrating the passage of House Bill 6909, which reflects the interests of the overwhelming majority of Latin Americans in our state and the rest of the world.

I applaud the commitment and creativity the governor’s office is making to fund the Baby Bonds Program. This first-of-its-kind statewide policy is designed to invest directly in Connecticut children born into poverty while simultaneously narrowing the generational and racial wealth gaps in our state.

I am proud to have co-hosted the Student → Manufacturers Connection Fair at the State Capitol. Students from all over the state, including Kaynor Technical High School in Waterbury, learned about the opportunities in the manufacturing industry.

I strongly support the early voting bill that passed the House of Representatives on Thursday. Early voting will give more people flexibility to cast a ballot in Waterbury and the rest of the state.

The city of Waterbury is celebrating the arrival of the State Education Resource Center (SERC). The move not only brings new life to our neighborhood but also more services to our public schools.

As a State Representative, who is Puerto Rican and serves Waterbury, it was an honor to be part of the unveiling of the schedule of Puerto Rican parades and festivals around the state.

It was an honor to recognize the Waterbury Career Academy boys' basketball team for its recent CIAC Division III state championship.

I want to congratulate my colleague Rep. Christine Palm for receiving the prestigious Walter Cronkite Award for Climate Education.
