Last week, I was joined by my colleagues - Representatives Conley and Bumgardner - to share our legislative update with the community.

The month of February is dedicated to American Heart Month, a month long awareness campaign in support of over 120 million Americans currently living with a cardiovascular condition, and to educate ourselves on ways we can prevent and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Official recognition of Black History Month started with a proclamation from President Gerald Ford 47 years ago, to honor the many accomplishments and contributions Black Americans have made to American society. It's a time to rejoice, reflect, and remember. Black history is American history.

Extreme cold weather is expected in the coming days across the state. It is important to be mindful that with it brings increased risks to ourselves and our communities.

Law Enforcement Officers take an oath to serve, but most importantly protect, our communities. I’m sick that we continue to watch this truly heinous and brutal behavior continue as if it’s okay. As a legislator – but also a fellow Law Enforcement Officer – it’s time for action and I want to call upon my colleagues in uniform to do better. Do not turn a blind eye, do not be fearful or intimidated, we must all stand up and speak out if we want to see these tragedies end.

At a press conference in support of a bill for an English Language Learner Parent Bill of Rights that enumerates the rights of English language learner students and the responsibilities of local and regional boards of education to educate such students.

A historic Connecticut river could see a name change. State Rep. Anthony Nolan proposed a bill that would rename the Thames River back to its original name, the Pequot River.
